Struggling with self-doubt can be an extremely difficult issue if you are desperate to find confidence in yourself.

Even for those who are normally confident people, it can only take a stressful day for their confidence to cave in and be then be totally consumed by self-doubt.

It’s a huge dilemma when we aren’t expecting it, and can in some cases cause someone’s personality to give into feelings of anxiety.

There are a lot of ways to overcome self-doubt and begin to start living a happier, healthier and more confident life.  

You have to start with believing you can because anything is possible!  

Even if you think you’re so stuck in your ways that nothing will ever change.

Remember that if other people can do it then so can you.

Here are a few of the best ways you can start helping yourself to overcome Self-doubt:

1. Stop focussing on other people’s opinions.

A key reason as to why people develop a lack of confidence can be from the belief that they are not as good as they appear to be.

This is often the result of anxiety about what other people might think.

It is important to take constructive criticism from others and act on their advice when necessary but there is also a point where you have to let go of other people’s perceptions of you.

They may not always be the truth and what other people think of you is none of your business!  

It’s simply their issue.

2. Go outside and take a walk with nature.

Nature has one of the most healing remedies for anxiety and self-doubt.

When we learn to start appreciating the things around us, we start to appreciate life.

Often we lose our connection to the world we live in.

Think of the tv and social media influence that has been part of our lives. 

Despite improving our lives in so many ways it can also give us a negative impact.

We don’t have to ‘be and do’ as everyone else does and we certainly don’t need to look the same or look a certain way because we think we have to keep up with everyone else.

A way to alleviate it is to just unplug for a while.

Try a few hours, a day, or even a week.

This can be incredibly helpful for those experiencing self-doubt. 

It’s also a liberating feeling for many and can inspire feelings of enlightenment.

When you start disconnecting yourself, use the opportunity to take a walk in nature and surround yourself by the beauty of the natural world.

This will allow you not only to have a moment of reflection in peaceful surroundings but also to remember that life is actually worth living.

It’s not all about social media.

Try doing some of the things you keep meaning to do but just ‘never have the time’.

3. Surround yourself with positivity.

One of the best ways you can help your overall self-confidence is to stop indulging in tv and magazines that encourage negative moods.

Instead, focus on content that will help and inspire you.

Surrounding yourself with things to boost your confidence have been shown time and again to be effective ways to bring your mood up and decrease your self-doubt. 

Stay away from people and situations that make you feel negative.

4. Use a gratitude journal every day.

To help you to stay motivated and inspired keep a gratitude journal on a daily basis.

By writing about what you are grateful for at the end of the day, you can inspire yourself to be reminded of the many things you have going for yourself.

Writing positive affirmations about your experiences will help keep you inspired to do better each day.

It will help to release your feelings of self-doubt and lift your mood.

5. Talk to a pro!

The most effective way to overcome self-doubt is to reach out to a professional like a coach or a counsellor if the problem is stubborn.
