What does a Holistic Counsellor do?

The word ‘Holistic’ is from the Greek word, ‘holos’, meaning ‘whole’ or ‘complete’.

Holistic therapies approach both your mental and physical well-being, meaning that they consider all aspects of your emotional and physical well-being as a whole.

A Holistic Counsellor will look at how your mind, body and spirit are connected and in doing so, they are able to look deeper and try to uncover any underlying issues you may have.

Each Holistic Counsellor will come from a different background. They may have studied different therapeutic modalities and even change their methods according to their sense of a client’s needs.

I studied counselling at college for two years earning qualifications with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and I then furthered my qualifications with the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM) and The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) to qualify as a Holistic Counsellor. I’m also a qualified Holistic Life Coach.

Holistic Counselling prioritises on facilitating self-discovery and self-healing. It’s about helping a client to access their own inner wisdom.
